VOS Media’s Snowsports division rebrands website

VOS Media’s Snowsports division, consisting of Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Magazine, Ski & Snowboard show and the portal previously know as www.metrosnow.co.uk are set to rebrand their website in order to ensure a more consistent brand message for consumers and partners alike.

The new domain www.skiandsnowboard.co.uk will take over from the former www.metrosnow.co.uk domain in April with developments to the current site also taking place. The new name aids user definition of the website and helps consumers in the search for topical ski and snowboard content.

Tim Holmes, VOS Media’s Head of Snowsports commented, “The aim is to help users, readers and visitors understand the products that VOS Media own by creating brand synergy across the portfolio. The opportunity to change domain name came at a great time as we’ve been making developments to the site so the name change and new look will go hand in hand. We are looking forward to setting it live at the end of this winter season.”

The website contains a range of snowsports information including snow reports, resort guides, news, events, competitions and pro blogs from riders such as Jenny Jones and Katie Summerhayes. In 2010/2011 the site launched its own bespoke video channel www.metrosnow.tv which includes video editorials from roving reporter Matt Carroll who travels the globe finding hidden tracks, secret runs and the best food the mountains have to offer.  Also new in 2011, the UK’s biggest selling wintersports magazine, Daily Mail Ski & Snowboard Magazine launched a digital version of the magazine. Featuring selected articles, features, pictorials competitions and more DMS&S digital is a slimmed down version of the print magazine and is available to download free online and via the i-Tunes store.

The website www.skiandsnowboard.co.uk will be relaunched at the end of the season with a new look, improved content and easier navigation in order to enhance our users experience even more. Further details to follow.
