Sales Manager, The Ski & Snowboard Show

This role offers a very rare opportunity to take a central position within the dynamic UK skiing and snowboarding community. The successful applicant will be joining a small team working on the award winning Ski and Snowboard Show and other VOS Media snowsports products. The role will focus on maximising stand and sponsorship revenue for The Show, the Metrosnow.co.uk website and across VOS Media’s portfolio as needed, including other shows, publications and events. You would be working in a fun dynamic environment which offers great company benefits and career progression for the right candidate.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities

• To identify, develop and grow new and existing business via the telephone and face to face
• To ensure all exhibition space and other targets are met, both personal and team
• To work closely with and manage a small sales team
• To maximise stand and sponsorship revenue whilst ensuring the quality of exhibitors reflects the high standard of the show
• To target and develop new product sectors within the show
• To work on site during the show, manage the sales office and refer queries to the relevant person
• To ensure all exhibitor queries are dealt with effectively and efficiently and sales opportunities are maximised
• The successful candidate will have the opportunity to travel overseas to a number of snowsports industry events, representing the show and VOS media as well as up to 3 annual trips to the mountains in a business capacity

Knowledge, Skills and Experienced Required

• A love of snowsports
• A demonstrable track record in a B2B sales role
• Evidence of achieving or overachieving targets
• Experience of managing sales staff preferable 
• An ability to build relationships with new and existing clients
• You will be an excellent and confident communicator with impeccable customer skills
• Knowledge of languages (French, German or Italian) would be an advantage
• The ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure
• The flexibility to work unsociable hours during the show. i.e. attending relevant shows
